The Society supports a range of projects that uncover and promote the archaeology of Worcestershire.
Since 2017, we’ve run the Small Pits, Big Ideas community archaeology project, which is ideal for adults, children and families. This is supported by the National Lottery Heritage Fund and explores the origins and development of Worcestershire villages.
We also support the work of other organisations in the county. In 2018, a new archaeology gallery On Ancient Tracks, was opened at Worcestershire County Museum, which we funded through a £23,330 grant from Severn Waste Services.
To encourage amateur and professional research into the archaeology and history of Worcestershire, we offer archaeological grants through our Raymer Research Fund and we publish articles from a wide range of contributors in our two periodicals, the Transactions of the Worcestershire Archaeological Society and the Worcestershire Recorder.
