We have been supporting archaeology and local history in Worcestershire for 160 year, so if you are interested, please consider joining. We would love to welcome you to our lectures and excursions.
- PLEASE NOTE that, as a result of the ongoing coronavirus emergency, with the need to avoid all social and other gatherings, the final two lectures of the 2019/20 programme, scheduled for 30 March and 20 April, have been CANCELLED. All excursions planned for the summer have similarly been cancelled. We hope to welcome members and visitors to the first lecture in next year’s programme in September 2020.
- The Annual General Meeting of the Society, due to be held on Monday 16 March, had to be postponed; it will be rearranged for a future date.
- The Society has been awarded a grant of £62,700 by the National Lottery Heritage Fund for a project, ‘Small Pits, Big Ideas, Part II’, which will see a programme of test-pitting undertaken in six rural communities spread over the county. Watch this space for more news as the project develops.
