Welcome to our website; we hope you find the information you are looking for. It is always a work in progress, so if there is something you think could be included, or could be more easily accessed, please let us know, via email@example.com
We have been supporting archaeology and local history in Worcestershire for 160 years, so if you are interested, please consider joining. We would love to welcome you to the Society and to our lectures and excursions.
- Because of the ongoing Coronavirus emergency and the consequent restrictions on meetings, we have arranged a series of lectures via video conferencing (Zoom). The full list appears under Current Lecture Series.
- The postponed Annual General Meeting of the Society, which was originally due to be held on Monday 16 March, will now take place, also via Zoom, on Monday 7 December. An invitation will be sent to members’ email addresses.
- Volume 27 of the Society’s Transactions, for 2020, has recently been published .
- The project, ‘Small Pits, Big Ideas, Part II’, which will see a programme of test-pitting undertaken in six rural communities spread over the county, and for which we have been awarded a grant of £62,700 by the National Lottery Heritage Fund, has had to be put on hold while the Coronavirus emergency continues. Work will resume when it is safe to do so, which now will not be until Spring 2021. Watch this space for more news as the project develops.
